Today i came in late for class but i got learned some of the lessons today.
ReplyDeleteAn expository essay explains facts, rather than opinions. It's like writing a standard essay but with only facts relating to the topic.
The topic i choose would be "Explaining why some teens skip school"
I choose this topic because i have friends who skip school a lot.
that's one way to define expository essay.
Deleteand that's one reason for choosing a topic like that.
come in class earlier next time!
Your definition is a pretty good one! And the topic you chose would be another easy one to do too. There are a number of reasons why teens skip school.
DeleteI can relate to your topic on why some teens skip school before because I have done it before. If you need help, I can give you some of my reasons on why I skipped school.
DeleteYour explanation is straight to the point and quite accurate. The topic you picked is a really great one, I was actually thinking about doing this topic also.
DeleteYour topic would be interesting to read to finding out why some teens skip school from different perspectives.
Deletean expository essay is intended to explain or describe the topic of the essay.
ReplyDeleteI chose the topic "Explain how music affects your life" because the topic of music is something i can explain over my sleep. I have a burning passion to explain or describe such a topic.
Today's lesson about writing, revising and editing. we also learned about the tone of the context that the sound of the speaker's voice could be representing. another thing that i learned was the good or bad Dictions. Choosing wiser or more intelligent or specific words are stronger or nicer in a paper or essay than general words.
We picked the same topics again! Although I changed my own for the descriptive essay. The part today where our classmates had to speak the sentences in a certain tone was pretty funny!
DeleteDiction is something that i will work on,It will help me in the future with my other class subjects.
DeleteI agree @Jan.
Today was funny because the part where our classmates had to say the sentence with a tone.
I agree, using different types of vocabulary can distinguish the tone of your writing.
DeleteListening to the dictions was very interesting and hilarious. I also like your topic, I could've guessed that you were going to pick one of the music topics since you like sharing your love for it.
DeleteAn expository essay is an essay where you write about a subject in great detail. The topic that I would choose would be "Explain how music affects your life." It's an easy topic for me because I am passionate about the subject.
ReplyDeleteToday's lesson was just a refresher on things I knew already. Writing, revising, and editing. I also learned what stuff to put on an essay and what not to such as the cliches.
oh man! sometimes i just wonder if we share the same passion or we just sound so alike or even both! dude we can be twins. i should have been the other Jan hahah! great choice of topic! i'm not biased at all.
DeleteI agree, that is a great topic to write about. Today i was lost but then I just found the page we were on and i just continued to read on my own, since i was late.
DeleteI have a habit of adding cliches on my essays. It is something I need to work on.
DeleteGreat topic of choice! I know you can related to this topic because how strongly you feel for music. Not using cliches was something I didn't know we shouldn't use in essays, that was new to me.
DeleteLearning not to put cliches in an essay can make a more stronger essay. Learning about this would help us write stronger essay without losing the meaning instead of using cliches.
DeleteAn expository essay is a type of essay that is used to prove an argument with evidence according to your understanding.
ReplyDeleteOut of all the topics given, I chose to write about "If you had to be an animal, which would you be and why?" I picked this because this is the only topic that I can give many evidence.
In today's lesson, I learned about stage three of the writing process. First you write your rough draft. Then you revise using C.L.U.E.S.S. Finally, you edit by checking capitalization, spelling, omission, and punctuation.
I really like your topic, it's an interesting subject to write about and we can see how creative you can be. C.L.U.E.S.S. was intriguing to learn about.
DeleteI agree with you. I am going to start doing that from now on.
DeleteAnd your topic sounds interesting :)
I was thinking of that topic first but then i chose a different one.
I find your topic interesting to read. I hope to see what you write about in your essay.
Deletei was about to choose the topic about which animal to be! haha but music brought me away haha!
Deletenice! i don't think i learned much about the C.L.U.E.S.S abbreviation but i do know them and it's very helpful with the abbreviation
Nice topic I'd love to see what animal you'd choose.
DeleteAn expository essay is an essay written to develop a topic that you have chosen by explaining, analyzing and describing valid information. The topic I selected was "Explain why some teens commit suicide," because I can relate to this very much. In today's class, the lessons that we were going through I have learned in the past, but it was great to refresh my memory about writing, revising and editing.
ReplyDeleteWriting on why some teen commit suicide is a great choice. These things happen on this island and i'm many people can relate to it.
DeleteGood choice.
DeleteNot only on this island, but everywhere around the world.
I agree with you @Jan N.
A lot of people commit suicide here on this island.
Your topic would be a great insight on reason why teens commit suicide. reading about your perspectives or other about this topic would help the community.
DeleteGreat topic we might learn more about why teens commit suicide. I'd love to see your fact on it and maybe learn something I'd never knew.

ReplyDeleteAn expository essay is a type of essay that involves writing to describe, inform, or explain a certain subject. The topic i chose was to describe the major stressors in teens' lives. I chose this topic because there are many things i can relate as a teen correlated to being stressed.
ReplyDeleteThe lesson i learned was about the processes of writing, editing, and revising. Another topic i learned was how to make a sentence or paragraph stronger using techniques such as diction, voice, and tone.
man i could write a lot about teenage stress, i have a friend that probably wins world record for most stressful life
ReplyDeleteAn expository essay can be compared to creating and verifying a hypothesis or an experiment. This essay involves the writer to investigate and fully understand the topic he/she is writing about in order to explain the reasons or the definition of their specific topic. The topic I chose was "Explain how music affects your life.". The reason to this was because I felt like writing about this and that I would like to see for myself how music affects me.
ReplyDeleteLast session, we learned about the process of writing the first draft and revising it. I learned that by using different dictions, tones, and emphasis, it can make a sentence stronger or weaker depending on your use. I really had fun in class, especially when we were trying out different tones on the sentences.
Nice definition of an expository essay. I'd love to see how music affected your life.
DeleteAn expository essay is like an informational essay that explains facts rather than opinions.
ReplyDeleteAmong the topics listed I chose "Explain why some cities have curfews for teens". I chose this topic because back when I use to live at Saipan teens had a certain curfew for specific reasons. It is easier for me to write down these facts because I've experienced it myself.
Nice definition of an expository essay. And i never knew about the curfew in saipan. We learn something everyday
DeleteAn expository essay is an essay that has facts rather then opinion in the essay.
ReplyDeleteThe topic i chose was: "Explain the difficulties some teens have once they are in gangs." Because in my life I've met many former and present gang members and see the struggles in life they face.
An expository essay is an essay that explains something using facts. It must also make a clear point.
ReplyDeleteOut of the many topics listed, I chose "explain why you admire a particular person". I chose this because there is someone that I admire.
