I was prepared to take the test for the most part, but there were small parts of the test that really made me blank out. I studied once per day, read the chapters that I knew were going to be on the test, and read some of the reviewers that was on the moodle/blog. I'm happy that I wasn't as bad as the first time I took the test, which I was really unprepared for.
ReplyDeleteI felt the same on some parts of the test. But I just fought through and just did my best on answering. I can say that this exam I did way better then the first test. The essay part was a big success for me, it made me leave that room happy and helped me keep my head up high.
DeleteYes, some of the questions in the test I did not get at all. I tried to answer them the best way I could. Hopefully, they were correct.
DeleteI'm never too sure about our essay part, since we were not given the rubrics in which our grades our based from. Sigh
DeleteThere were also some small parts of the test that i blanked out on too. I tried my best not to leave them blank though.
DeleteI was also really unprepared for the first test we took. I know that I did better on this test because I actually studied this time. I really like your methods of studying. It sounds like it would be really beneficial to me. I'll try it for the next test we take.
DeleteI felt the same way... honestly, WTF are divisons?!
DeleteI felt like the I did better on this test than the last one. I'm sure I'll pass! I think. I hope. Maybe not. Whatever! I hope I at least meet the passing grade this time. I spent a lot of time on it, so I was able to answer majority of the questions. There were some that caught me completely off guard. I think I learned from my mistake this time, and I will apply it to the next test! Hopefully my essay isn't as bad as my last one.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I hope I did good. If I did not do good then I guess I will have to do the extra credit.
DeleteEven though I studied, I kind of blanked out on some. I have to work on that too. But I hope we all pass!
DeleteI think that you'll do good because i'm pretty sure you are smart. I hope my essay isn't as bad also.
DeleteI feel the same way. I was able to answer a lot of the questions because I studied, but I still couldn't answer some even though I knew the answers. I feel like I can still improve my studying skills for the next test though, to where I will be more confident that I got a good grade on the test. I also hope I did good on the essay, because overall I want to become a better writer at the end of this class.
DeleteI think I did better on this one too! I just ran out of time :/
DeleteI was quite prepared for this test. I studied very well and I hope i get a better grade then my last test. I just studied the same way I study for my other exams, which i have like two more this week. But overall I strongly believe i improved on this test.
ReplyDeleteI know I did well on this test then the last because I kind of new how the test was going to look like. A short essay you have to read followed by questions, more questions, and an essay in the end.
DeleteGood job Mark!
DeleteThanks.
DeleteI noe that we all should of done a great job on this test.
I was kind of prepared for the test. I studied chapters 5, 6, and 7. I read through the chapters and took notes on the readers guidelines. When it was test time, I answered mostly all the questions. I left a few unanswered because I did not know the answer. Overall, I was pretty shaky on the test. How I studied was I reread the chapters and did the same method as the last test.
ReplyDeletetaking notes in addition to reading the writer's guidelines is really an advantage
DeleteI remember looking at you and thinking "What is this?!" I think you did better than me this time.
DeleteI should read through the chapters again before the test just like you. I only studied the readers' guidelines. It will more than likely help me out more if I did go through the chapters once more.
DeleteI thought we only had to study chapters 5 and 6? oops.
DeleteYour studying for the test is something I'm going to try for the next test. I haven't taken notes on the chapter for this course, and I feel I really should now. The beginning of the test though was a little difficult for me because of the terms they used. It was similar to the first test's questions so that I'll definitely be studying more about also.
DeleteI should've taken notes! Now I can study more effectively for the next test... WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT?! It's so obvi...
DeleteI too studied for the test, with the study guide and all, but I was only highlighting my study guide. I missed the part on annotating and rewriting the notes, which could've helped me retain more information. All in all, I missed some parts of the first half, and was not so confident. At least we did the best we could and were honest. On to the next test!
ReplyDeleteI didn't do too well on the first part either. I'm not as eager as you to take the next test, but you do have a good attitude.
DeleteIt shows that you put all your free time to good use. It is okay as long as you have faith in your study notes and on the test, good things will be there when it is needed. But good job for trying your very best.
DeleteI was not too confident on this test as well. I probably missed some things on the study at the end of the chapter or there were information that we needed that was within the chapters.
Deletehaha, i'm with Maiko. I missed most of the first half of the test. Oh well, next time :)
DeleteI also could have studied better for this test. The study guide was really helpful, but the way I studied wasn't sufficient enough because I wasn't able to retain all the information for the test. The first part was also a bit confusing with the vocabulary the questions used, but overall I know I did better than last. All that's pending is the essay part for me to know my grade.
DeleteI think it's a great idea to highlight your notes... I should do that from now on. But, I need to get a new highlighter, because I lost the one I stole from Chelsea.
DeleteI did not understand the first part either. I just tried to not leave it blank.
DeleteI tried studying this time and although I did, there were still some questions that I had no clue how to answer. The first part of the test with the essay was difficult for me. I feel like I did better this time, but I know my grade is probably going to be worse than the last test. I'm glad that it's over...until next time.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you did better this time Sharleen. I know I did better this time than I did on the last time because I actually studied. I made the mistake of not doing so on the first test we took. Maybe you could try quizzing yourself on the notes you took. I think that doing the study guide that Dr. Rivera gives really helps on the tests. Good luck on our next test!
DeleteI also had some questions that I had no clue of. And yes, until next time !
DeleteDespite the difficulties you experienced when taking the test, I hope that you will get a decent grade. It is always best to think positively about your test results. It's also great to hear that you believe you did better than the first time. You knew what to expect this time around, so I hope that helped. Like you said, there is a next time. I can only wish that we all will excel in the next test.
DeleteI was prepared before the test. I did all the reading I needed. However, during the exam I blank out. Its like what I reviewed just run away out of my head and gone with the wind, but I did my best to answer the questions and make a good guest to the questions that I forgot the answers. It's better to guess than leaving it blank.
ReplyDeleteI also guessed on a few questions. It's better knowing that you got it right or wrong for trying your best to fill it in, than leaving it blank and getting it wrong.
DeleteBlanking out on exams are so terrible. I do it quite a lot. I am glad you did your best and I hope that you remember more next time. I found that what really helps me is when I study the night before and the morning of the test. I usually quiz myself on the material and it really helps my memory.
DeleteI also blanked out and made the best educational guesses that I could :)
DeleteI'm so sorry that you blanked out. I sometimes find myself facing the same issue. I think this has happened to all of us at one point in time. However, I am glad that you tried your best to answer all the questions. Hopefully, the answers you wrote down were the correct ones and you'll get a decent grade.
DeleteI thought test #2 a bit difficult for me. Although I did study the night before and did a quick review just before taking the test, I still found myself lost on some questions. I feel that test #1 was much more easier for me than test #2. As for the essay part though, I can only hope that I did better than my first one.
ReplyDeleteHey Meryeil, I'm sorry to hear that you had some issues with today's test. I myself had a lot of problems taking the first test. I feel as thought the essay part of the tests are the easiest to do. I hope you did well on your test! Best of luck.
DeleteI hope that you were able to answer all the questions you thought were difficult.I think that there was more content that we needed to study for this test than the previous one. It seemed like Test #2 was longer that Test #1. As for your the essay portion, we can only wish that we produced a better writing than the last time.
DeleteI was actually very prepared for this test. I feel like I did a very good job on the test and the essay. I really enjoyed writing the essay, I think it was my favorite part of the test. I think I was well prepared for this test because I studied for it by using the study guide that a friend of mine sent to me.
ReplyDeleteI like your confidence in your grade for this test. Next time, we are definitely studying together. I really want to make sure I ace the next test, and you seem like you did really good this test. I'm sure you enjoyed the essay as well, especially because you are a strong writer.
DeleteI'm glad that you feel you did great on the test. It is always good to think positively when it comes to taking tests. I also enjoyed writing the essay as well. I think it was the easiest part of the test. I hope your test results will meet your expectations.
DeleteI was a bit prepared for this test. mostly things that deal with chapters five and six. the only problem I had was with the first couple of questions. I think those questions were on the first test also. the principles of something... anyways I should look for the answers to those questions. I will do what I did for this test. review the chapter.
ReplyDeleteTest #2 I feel I was a little more prepared than the last test. I studied more, but there were some questions I did blank out on. For example, the types of introductory paragraphs and the types of ways to conclude an essay- I knew the answers but I completely forgot when I saw the question. After class I reviewed my notes again and that's when I remembered everything again, which was a little too late. Other than that, I felt I answered a lot more questions than I did on the first test.
ReplyDeleteI studied more too. I wish I knew about the writers guidelines for the first test. There were definitely some questions that were worded so weirdly. I had to reread questions over and over sometimes because they were easy to misinterpret. I still haven't reviewed which answers I wasn't sure on. I can't wait to get our test results back.
DeleteI think I was more prepared for this test than the last one. I still think I should've studied harder. I feel like I am actually getting the hang of this. I hope I pass. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteI believe that I was well prepared to take Test #2. Once, I received the test, I was easily able to transfer the knowledge from my brain onto the paper. Attending class for the review definitely helped me to understand the content of the test. I knew what to study and what not to spend too much time on. Overall, I think I did fairly well.
ReplyDeleteYes, I feel that now we know how the tests are organized, this test was a lot more easier than the first. I definitely agree that attending class made all the difference. The moodle could only help so much but what Dr. Rivera said in class actually sticks in your head and is on the test.
DeleteI guess I was pretty well prepared for the parts that are part of the book, but in the beginning where there were questions asking about the paragraph, I just couldn't grasp what the question was kind of asking, but overall I think I did better than last time.
ReplyDeleteI felt like I studied the best I possibly could have for the Test #2. I made a study guide and studied for 2 nights and before class twice. I found the writer's guidelines to be extremely helpful. They contained all the information I could have possibly needed as simply as possible. However, there were a few questions on the test with material I don't remember ever being exposed to, which made me very nervous for the outcome grade of my test. Also, I feel that I may have actually studied too hard because I managed to retain a lot of information that was not on the test. All in all, I feel confident that I earned a good grade on the test.
ReplyDeleteI think I was actually more prepared for this test because I had an idea of how hard it would be so I altered my study methods and was able to retain a little bit of information everyday. I think I did pretty well, I felt comfortable with the questions given and my answers! :)
