Reflection - Section 11 - Test #2 - Oct. 22

Discuss your thoughts on taking Test #2. Were you prepared for it? If so, what strategies did you use as part of your preparation? If you were not prepared for it, what will you do next time to ensure that you do well on the test?

  1. The test today was similar to the first test. Once again, I was confused on the first page of the test, but as I continued on, everything else made sense. I did the same strategy as last time, studied a day before, but went over it multiple times, to make sure I understood it. I would say I did better on this test than I did on the last, or well, I hope so.

    1. Agreed, its always the first page that's the most difficult.. Hopefully we all did good.. hope next time we can review more though.

    2. I agree with your opinion about the first page. Hopefully we all did better.

    3. The first page was not so hard, because it was actually the exact same essay/story we reviewed in class.
I hope we all did good too.
I agree that we should spend a little more time reviewing. The review we had in class was pretty fast, a little too fast.

    4. I had trouble with the first page as well. I have the same studying strategy but I still think I did pretty well on this test... hopefully.

    5. I agree! The first page was quite difficult. The rest of the test was alright.

  2. Honestly speaking the test was a little more difficult than the first one. I used the same strategy to the study for the first exam, so i'm a little confident that i did good. I was rushing a little due to time, but overall i think I did alright. HOPEFULLY.

    1. I think i did well in the textbook content part. But i always feel rushed when it comes to the essay part. So i understand where your coming from when you feel like you are running out of time.

    2. I also am confident that I did better than the first test we took. For me, the first one was a little more difficult.

    3. I was rushing also. I shouldn't have made the essay portion too long. I think I did fairly well. Hopefully, better than the first test.

    4. I felt as though I rushed, too! I just wanted to be done with the test. I didn't think hard on a question I couldn't remember. I still hope I did okay though. I also hope you did well!

  3. I agree with Johnathans Kim the test was little difficult for me than the first one. I really don't know why or maybe beacause im so nervous everytime I hold a test paper. But overall I think I did alright hopefully.

  4. The test today was pretty alright compared to the first one. Considering the fact that I sort of was familiar with the layout of the test. The first page was challenging though... and some of the questions were difficult to understand. Like they could've been more straight to the point rather confusing. Overall, the test was okay. I hope I did better this time! My favorite part of the test is the quote analyzation, like what we think of the quote in our own words... its like a freebie (:

    1. agreed, the quotation was pretty strong and it touched me. I should have a desire to learn, cause i really need it .

    2. I think it is a good thing that the format of the test is very similar to the format we had on test 1. It makes me feel a little at ease when i have an idea of what to expect. I also like the quote section of the test, it is like a freebee.

    3. Same, the first test was more challenging. Also the quote was easy to comprehend; something like in order to learn you must want to learn.

    4. yea the first one i was super off didnt even bother to check what i got cause i already know it wasnt great~ but hopefully this test helps our grades

    5. I agree, the quote analyzation was a freebie. I have no idea how anyone could possibly get that wrong.

    6. The first page was really confusing. I agree that they should of went straight to the point. I really enjoy the quotation too. It was really interesting and motivating.

    7. The first page was a little difficult to me because of the questions. I looked through the pages of the text book for some help, but I was still confused on how to answer the question! I agree, some of the questions should have been straight to the point. Hopefully this time we all did better!

    8. I realized that we should no longer worry about the first part of the test because we're currently learning it.

  7. I also thought that today's test was similar to the layout of the last but for sure I will take the time to come in for the review sessions. I heard that it was very helpful.

    1. The review sessions are very helpful, especially for the first page of the test that everyone seemed to struggle with. Going to the review session helped me because I was not so nervous for this test unlike how i was for test 1 when i did not know what to expect. We reviewed exactly what was on the test, however the review is fast so you have to be quick to take down notes in order to catch everything.

    2. Yes, the reviews are actually really helpful. I just never take the time to take notes for the first page of the test. Hopefully, you did great though.

  8. The test was in the same format as the last time, which was actually a good thing for me because now I know what to expect for future tests. I think I did pretty good on this test. I constantly went over my study guide prior to the test. On the day before the test I went over the lessons in the book and my notes from class. Therefore, the textbook questions were not so difficult for me. However, I think the essay part got to me a little. I can write an essay and I can memorize an essay, but when it comes to test I get nervous and feel like I am running out of time so I tend to rush my ideas through. I know... its not a good thing. Hopefully I get a good grade. The only thing I did differently from the last test was actually going into class face to face so that I can take part in the review. This was helpful because it helped me through the first page of the test which was really challenging for me on test 1.

    2. I still don't get the first part because I don't understand the meaning of certain words of the questions.

  9. Test#2 quickly came right after the first test so I wasn't quite as worried on studying. I just briefly reviewed over the things I've studied before and focused more on the recent things we've gone over. Honestly, I found myself cramming the night before. However, I was still able to remember my essay. Hopefully in the next test I won't put myself in the same situation. Starting an academic planning will surely help me with my time management. And then I would do better on the next test.

    1. Time management is the key, but sometimes it is so hard to manage time when we are studying for multiple tests. We should all make study guides to help each other out. As a class, we should gather what everyone think is going to be on the test and jot it down on paper, make copies, and issue it out to everyone in class.

      Delete
    2. Yes. Time management is important. I think if we studied ahead of time, we won't be cramming and our body won't feel stressed out. We will have more energy and we can remember what we studied on.

  10. The test was a little difficult for me. Well that is because I didn't know what to study over the weekend. I ended up studying eight chapters of the book. I still struggled on the first part of the test because the questions of the first part were too complex and advanced in vocabulary. I hope my essay did me well. I am currently crying in defeat.

    1. Yeah same here! I hope we did better than the first test though.

  11. the test was interesting because i focused to much on the essay instead of the regular terms an vocabs and functions and stuff. but i think overall it was better than the first test cause i bombed the first one who knows though grades always surprise me (in the bad way) but hopefully i do well in this test

  12. I thought this test was similar to the last test in layout, but I am more confident about this test than I was about the first. I was more prepared and I even made a study guide. I knew most of the answers, and I hope I get an A on this. I also studied longer for this test than I did for the other test and I learned from my mistakes.

  13. Test number two was really similar to the first test we had. I knew that we were going to review the same content again. I tried to study it but when it was time to take the test, I forgot everything. I was so focused on the second part of the page because it was very familiar and I really studied hard on that part of that page. The essay was really good. I had to take my time because I wanted my essay to be perfect. I think I have to start trying harder. I have to review more. I also have to attended the review because it will help me. This test was challenging. I want to be more prepared.

  14. This test was a bit easier than the first test, but the first part of the test really threw me off. I did not review the whole areas we were supposed to study for, so I couldn't answer certain questions. I wish I prepared earlier so to cover all the areas of the two chapters. I sort of blanked out, but I thought hard at the top of my head. I thought I did okay on my essay.
